What's a Chart of Accounts?

Daylon's thoughts on the questions Mom sent him this week:

1. Do you feel like you're getting to know El Presidente a little better?
Being the financial secretary has allowed me to work more closely with Pdte because of how often I need his approval on things and when we go over the monthly budget report.

2. Did you ever get to go to the temple after you emailed me about a name a few weeks ago? It's hard for me to understand why missionaries with a temple nearby don't go once a month as a matter of course. If you have any insight on that, let me know.
We still haven't gone to the Temple and I don't think we will any time soon. Even though the Temple is close, it is outside mission boundaries and the Area Presidency has asked us to limit trips outside the mission's boundaries to only the necessary. I'll get to go the last week of my mission, but going before then is most likely out of the question.

3. How would you define humility? I gave my new MiaMaid presidency the assignment to study this topic and I'd love your thoughts too.
Humility is understanding that there are more important things than being correct. From Pres. Monson, "Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved." Humility is also closely related to love. If I love my younger sister I'm going to listen to what she has to say and not ignore her just because I'm the older brother. Study Preach My Gospel, Chapter 6 - there is a section titled "Humility" and another titled "Patience" that go hand-in-hand :)

(re: Dad trying to find a bunch of current events articles for Trevin)  Haha I feel like Dad may be doing more high school homework now than he did when he was in school! But now I think I can manipulate Google almost as good as he does, so hopefully it won't carry over into college hahaha.

We had a mini audit this week. It went well and I learned a lot, so hopefully we can correct the mistakes and get back out of the red on our budget. Mostly it's just a matter of making sure things get charged to the right accounts.

***WARNING: This next part may be boring. I won't feel bad if you skip it***

There are a few types of accounts we use as a mission. The 000 account is the Administration account. It's used for things like Pdte's travels and supplies for the mission home and office. This account has a budget. The 400 account is the missionary expenses account. Things like the monthly allotment and housing expenses and repairs go here. This account does not have a budget. Some things were being charged to the 000 account when they should have been charged to the 400 account. I can't give you an exact number as to how much this affected our budget because I'm still looking at the numbers.

***END OF BORING***

And I don't think anything else exciting has happened this week....nope.

Lots of love,
- Elder Daylon Crider
