Where I Live

So, the reason you couldn´t find my apt. building is because in the Google Maps photo, the building isn´t finished yet haha. I just tried looking it up myself and it´s under construction. You were off by one street though. "San Diego 313, Santiago, Chile" is where I live, but you won´t be able to find it :P The photos are from January 2012

Can you get David´s missionary email for me?

Also, my thoughts on John the Beloved...Those who have seen Him personally, such as Peter, James, John, and Joseph Smith, among others, can testify of Him as Special Witnesses (we call them Apostols....is that how you spell it in English?). So if someone were to have felt the pure love of Christ and the change which that love brings, there is no doubt in my mind that such a person would have some right to call himself "Beloved of Jesus". We can all, however, become even as was "the disciple whom Jesus loved" if we but allow His love to humble us and change us into the spiritual sons and daughters of Christ through the ordinances of baptism by water and by fire, then the receiving of the Holy Ghost. My thoughts on those two types of baptisms and the following reception of the Holy Ghost are much more than I have time to write, so maybe I´ll type it up in my spare time and send it as a separate email next week. If I remember....hahaha

I am wearing a long sleeved shirt today, but we can´t seem to find the numbers...it was made in Sri-Lanka though :) And I think I have 3-4, so I should be good. Also, I picked up a pretty nice sweater today (and coming from me, that´s saying a lot!!) for about $12 (by the way, I´m putting up my finance book online in the Google Drive for Dad to look at)

And there´s new photos :)

A Lesson in Patience ;)

First things first: If anyone is sending a package between now and May PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include some nice thick socks, even if I could only use them to sleep in. Winter is coming and coming harder and faster than last year - and I was practically a popsicle last year! I will love you forever to whoever can help me with that :D

And the (tooth) pain stopped sometime this week - I didn´t really notice it stop. I think I had some food up there, but now I´m brusing 3 times a day because that pain absolutely sucked :/ And that means I´m gonna need to pick up some toothpaste toward the end of this year cux I definitely wasn´t planning on brushing this much when we bought al that paste haha

That´s an awesome story from the Sis. Miss.! I always try to invite our investigators to an activity first for the same reason, but in CHile that happens about 3 times a year.... (our Mesa sister missionaries invited an investigator to a ward luau the YW put on as a fundraiser, and she felt so welcome and included that she came to church the next day for the first time, and then set a baptismal date)

This week has been stressful for me. On Tuesday a missionary couple (does that make sense in English?) got here to help us with Simi Squad. That´s good news :) Here´s the bad news, followed by more bad news: His wife had to tell him "it´s the green button, Bill" when the phone rang. Other bad news: Trying to capacitate (is that a word? from mom: No, Daylon. the word is explain :) ) to them how to use a system that, in all honesty, is super complicated and having to tell them that if they do it wrong they could send the Bishop´s records out of the ward. All that I get to teach without it being taught to me. And I thought the Lord said "Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word". Then again, how to use a search engine probably shouldn´t be counted as "His word", right? Haha

Also, there are a few new photos that I´m kinda proud of :)

And, with changes coming up next week: If I ever get assigned to the office or as an AP, Pday is on Saturday, not Monday. Just to give you a warning :)

Lots of love,

They figured out how to make rice!

Growth (of a tooth)

Before I forget, about the photos...uhh..well, my gum was hurting for like a week and I just thought I got some food stuck up it, but I looked at it the other day and...well...I have a new tooth! It´s growing diagonally toward my cheek. WHAT DO I DO????? I thought the dentist took X-rays and said there´s nothing up there???  (pic below for the brave-hearted)

On another note, President decided to get us (E´ W and me) laptops! So that means we also get "assistant backpacks" :D Haha This week has probably been the best of my mission, starting with the surprise baptism last Friday :D

About your dream, we spent a lot of time in the train station (thanks for remind me what it´s called!) today, but thankfully nothing happened :) And it´s true. If mom (generally speaking) says to stay, it may or may happen. But if the woman you´re going to marry says stay, you go buy a tent and plant yourself in that exact spot until she says otherwise (that sorta came from a talk we listened to from E´ Holland today about the family, paraphrasing of course) (Mom had a weird dream that Daylon told her he was coming home early because someone tried to kill him at the train station and it really scared him. Mom replied, "Umm, you better ask Jenny about that first" haha! ).

About your miracle with Trev: that´s seriously a miracle! You might even have a personal off-season coach if he goes collegic with basketball, who knows! But, as Dad always told me, never buy at first sight. Always sleep on it at least once. All I would add is Alma 37:37 (and you can CR it with Proverbs 3:5-6 Proverbs 3:5-6 if you feel like reading from the Bible too)  (Trev got on a great club basketball team and they waived most of the (very abundant) fees for him)

Oh how I wish Chile were as organized as the States! But if it were, I wouldn´t have the blessing of working with computers (probably until the end of my mission)

Anyway, prepare yourselves for Conference and and remember the Spirit that is felt when we attend the Temple as often as possible.

Lots of love,

The rogue tooth
Daylon called this "The Protest" but said nothing about it in his email.

A Sweet Baptism

So, I don´t have much time, but WE HAD A BAPTISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There´s photos of Sariah, the daughter of a now-active member :)

Also, Elder Evans for the 70 was here on Saturday. Amongst all the things he talked about it the 4 hours with us, he mentioned the importance of reading the first part of the Book of Mormon when an investigator reads it for the first time. The first verse of the Restoration talks about the importance of families. Within the first 12 verses of 1 Nephi 1, there are all the basic doctrines of our Church. How many can you find?

Trev -  no toma un gusto por el "chainsaw". ¡No quiero que mata a todos! ;P

Anna - Lucky duck! I love volleyball! Maybe we´ll play when I get home? :D

Allie - I hope you practice a lot of bball skills cuz when I get home I´ll need someone to teach me again. All we play here is soccer :P

Alyza - ´Lyza Bea! Do you want some more candy from Chile? Maybe mom can take a video of you asking for some?

(p.s. I´d like photos and videos of all of you too every now and again!)

Sorry it´s so short, but we had our Zona Activity today and we lost track of time :/

Lots of love,
- Elder Daylon Crider
